Our glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System (SKU: DR4SBL34PL), uses the patented CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1) to deliver a stronger, faster way to secure glass in door rails. The system clamps glass by applying downward pressure through two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar tightened with socket head cap bolts. The angled extrusions seat into an angled groove in the rail, so as the bar is pulled down the wedges draw the extrusions together, creating very high holding force (more than 900 lbs. in our 9" corner rail) — substantially improving glass retention compared with traditional two-piece rails.

Key benefits and long-tail features for specifiers and installers:

  • Fast installation: experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes.
  • Ready-to-install: rails ship fully fabricated with end caps installed; only pivot/arm attachment is required after mounting.
  • Adjustable Door Alignment Slide: built-in adjustable alignment slide (standard on top and bottom rails) allows ±1/8" (3 mm) door adjustment toward/away from the jamb without door removal.
  • Low-profile adjustable slide enables positioning of pivots away from the American Standard setback (2-3/4" / 69.8 mm) for vertically out-of-square openings.
  • Durability: rigid single-component housing that resists shifting, internal components remain in place during installation, and glass pads are designed for longevity in extreme environments.
  • Glass capacity: available models accept 3/8" to 3/4" (10 to 19 mm) glass; specified for monolithic tempered glass applications.
  • Built-in Jamb Alignment Block standard; arms and pivots ordered separately to match job requirements.

After installation, remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center secures the adjustable slide; the two outer bolts provide the
