CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills — SKU PDT118 use a specially formulated diamond-and-bronze bond for maximum performance on glass. Metal bond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic use of a wet sharpening stone to expose fresh diamonds. These Italian-made, multi-layer drills cut faster and run cooler than competing drills. The full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface is packed with diamonds and bronze bond for extended life; note this construction is more fragile and requires proper handling and machine mounting.

The PD Series features an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip. The PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" / 12.7 mm gas thread), compatible with most U.S. and European glass drilling machines and suitable for portable units such as the CRL AMZ1 as well as production equipment.

NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear (gloves and eye protection) and drill on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions can result in operator injury.
