CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills use a special diamond and brass (bronze) bond for maximum performance in glass. Metal bond diamond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill type—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic wet sharpening to expose fresh diamonds. These Italian-made, multi-layer drills cut faster and run cooler than many other drills on the market.

The PD/PDT drills feature a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface filled with diamonds and bronze bond for extended drill life. Because of their dense metal-bond construction they are more fragile than softer-bond drills and should be used only in true-running machines on flat glass surfaces. The CRL PD Series includes an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip. The CRL PDT Series (PDT12) uses Belgian-style mounting threads—also called 1/2" gas thread—commonly found on U.S. and European glass drilling machines and production equipment. These drills may be used in portable machines such as the CRL AMZ1 but are especially suited for production environments.

NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear including gloves and eye protection when drilling glass. Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt device (Cat. No. GF1) whenever using electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions can result in injury.
