CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills — SKU: PD134

CRL PD and PDT Series metal bond diamond drills use a brass-diamond bond engineered for maximum performance in glass. Metal bond drills deliver the longest life among diamond drills—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic sharpening using a wet sharpening stone to expose fresh diamonds. Made in Italy, these multi-layer drills cut faster and run cooler than many alternatives.

The full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface is densely packed with diamonds and bronze bond for extended life, but requires use on flat glass in true-running machines due to increased fragility. The PD Series includes an extra-long 1-3/8" by 3/8" (35 by 10 mm) diameter straight shank for a secure grip. The PDT Series features Belgian-style mounting threads (also called 1/2" (12.7 mm) gas thread), compatible with most U.S. and European glass drilling machines and suitable for portable units like the CRL AMZ1 as well as production equipment.

NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear (gloves and eye protection) and work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Device (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions may result in operator injury.
