You can fabricate your own aluminum jambs for sliding glass door assemblies using CRL Dor-Tite Sponge Rubber Stripping (SKU D4450). This black, open-cell sponge rubber fits most aluminum extrusions and provides cushioning, dust proofing, and rattle proofing at the edge of sliding glass panels. The tape density is 26 lbs./cu. ft. with a deflection/compression of 5–10 psi (medium) for consistent compression performance.
Dor-Tite Sponge Rubber Stripping is self-adhesive — simply remove the protective liner and apply. The exposed surface has a textured finish, is non-stretchable, and requires no cleanup. Available in multiple widths and thicknesses to suit a wide range of aluminum jamb profiles and retrofit weatherproofing needs.
