CRL Saint-Gobain/Norton V2100 Thermalbond® Tape (SKU: V210438) is a semi-rigid, high-density foam spacer tape with aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive on both faces. Its formulated open-cell substrate maintains joint dimension control, allows moisture and air transmission for optimal silicone cure, and reduces heat transfer—making it a preferred spacer for structural silicone glazing curtain walls, storefronts, skylights, and windows.
Key differentiators: semi-rigid open-cell construction for reliable spacing, highly aggressive double-sided adhesive for temporary panel hold during shop fabrication, thermal break performance to inhibit window and frame condensation, and broad compatibility with commercial structural silicones.
Common applications: two- and four-sided structural silicone glazing of curtain walls, storefronts, skylights and windows; temporary securing of glazing/panels during unitized system fabrication; holding lightweight veneers while structural silicone cures; providing even sightlines and serving as a thermal break for glass, metal, stone, mineral cement, and plastic panels.
Limitations: Thermalbond® V2100 is a spacer material—not a structural fastener. Do not rely on its adhesive for permanent fastening or to reduce silicone adhesive specified by the silicone manufacturer. Surfaces must be clean before application; position carefully (not repositionable). Some substrates may require Norton Tite‑R‑Bond adhesion promoter.
