These CRL Electro-Formed Diamond Drills are thin-walled with a 1/2" (12.7 mm) deep multi-layer diamond and bonding matrix engineered for high-speed, high-production drilling of flat glass. The DCD Series features an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) shank for a positive grip; the HBT Series provides Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" gas thread) commonly used on U.S. and European glass drilling machines. These drills deliver excellent results when used under exacting, production-style conditions.

Because of their very thin walls, DCD and HBT drills are EXTREMELY FRAGILE and intended for drilling flat (plate) glass only in a precision, true-running production drilling press. Never perform freehand drilling. Use a stabilization base (for example, CRL GDB1 or GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases) if a hand drill is required—otherwise, do not use these bits in hand-held applications. Improper use may damage the bit and void the warranty.

To maximize cutting performance, always dress/sharpen electro-formed diamond drills before each use; a dressing stone is recommended. Operate with minimal pressure, on a flat horizontal surface, and handle bits with care.

Safety: Always wear eye protection and gloves. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter when using electric tools with water or coolant to prevent electric shock. Failure to follow safety precautions can result in operator injury.
