CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills use a multi-layer diamond and brass (bronze) bond engineered for maximum performance in glass drilling. Metal bond diamond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic sharpening on a wet sharpening stone to expose fresh diamonds. Italian-made, these drills cut faster and run cooler than conventional drills and feature a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep diamond-filled cutting surface for extended service life. Note: metal bond drills are more fragile than softer bonds and should be used only in true-running machines on flat glass surfaces for best results.

Series differences & mounting

• PD Series — extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) straight shank for a positive grip in chucks and production spindles
• PDT Series — Belgian style mounting thread (also called 1/2" (12.7 mm) gas thread), compatible with most U.S. and European glass drilling machines and many portable units such as the CRL AMZ1
