This individual spiral balance features a red nylon bushing for sash loads up to 25 pounds (11.3 kg) and replaces the same-size white-bushing or metal/plastic tube balances. For best performance, replace both balances in the window at the same time.

How to order the correct tubular spiral window balance:

1. Confirm the tube diameter of the existing metal or plastic tube (9/16" / 14 mm).
2. Measure the tube length from the end of the balance to the bottom of the colored nylon bushing only — do not include the rod extension.
3. Check the color of the nylon bushing (red = up to 25 lb).
4. Verify the rod extension protruding from the bushing matches the photo and specifications.
5. Match tube diameter, tube length, and bushing color to the catalog information. If all match, this balance (FH1720) is the correct replacement.
