Overview
- Designed for high-volume glass fabrication and production drilling
- 3/8" (10 mm) diamond matrix cutting depth for extended life
- Two mounting styles: straight shank (1-3/8" × 3/8") or Belgian thread (1/2" gas thread)
CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills (SKU: PD212) are Italian-made metal-bond diamond drill bits engineered for maximum performance in glass drilling. The multi-layer bronze and diamond bond delivers longer life than resin-bond bits—up to 1,000–2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper wet sharpening to expose fresh diamonds. These drills cut faster, run cooler, and feature a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface filled with diamonds, making them ideal for production equipment and high-volume glass fabrication. The PD Series offers an extra-long 1-3/8" × 3/8" shank for a secure grip; the PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads common to U.S. and European glass drilling machines. While suitable for portable machines (e.g., CRL AMZ1), they perform best in true-running machines on flat glass surfaces.
NOTE: Always wear appropriate safety gear (gloves and eye protection). Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface and use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Device (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow precautions can result in injury.
Order PD212 now for durable metal-bond drilling performance in production glass fabrication.
