CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills — SKU: PDT212
CRL PD and PDT Series metal bond diamond drills use a specialized diamond-and-bronze bond engineered for maximum performance in glass drilling. These Italian-made, multi-layer metal bond drills deliver extended life and cooler cutting for high-volume glass fabrication. With a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep diamond cutting surface, they provide long service life—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic sharpening on a wet sharpening stone.
The PD Series features an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip. The PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" gas thread), a common fit for U.S. and European glass drilling machines and portable units such as the CRL AMZ1. These drills are optimized for production equipment and flat glass surfaces; because the diamond matrix is deep, handle with care to avoid breakage.
NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear (gloves and eye protection) when drilling glass. Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water/coolant. Failure to follow safety precautions can result in injury.
Ideal for: glass fabricators, storefront production, and high-volume glass drill operations seeking durable metal bond diamond drill bits.
