CRL DCD and HBT Series Electro-Formed Diamond Drills feature a thin wall with a 1/2" (12.7 mm) deep multi-layer diamond matrix. Designed for high-speed, high-production drilling of flat glass, these electro-formed diamond drill bits deliver precise holes when used under correct conditions. They are an excellent choice for industrial glass drilling and production glass shops needing durable, consistent performance.

These extremely fragile drills must be used in a precision drilling press—never freehand. Use minimal pressure, work on flat plate glass only, and handle bits carefully. Sharpening or "dressing" before each use using a dressing stone substantially improves cutting capability; a dressing stone is recommended for electro-formed diamond drills.

IMPORTANT NOTE: CRL DCD and HBT Series Diamond Drills have a very thin wall and are EXTREMELY FRAGILE. Intended for flat (plate) glass only in true running production drilling presses.

NEVER perform freehand drilling. Hand drills require stabilization bases such as our GDB1 & GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases. Improper use may damage the bit and void the warranty.

Always wear proper safety gear including gloves and eye protection. Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter when using electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow precautions can result in injury.
