  • High-production electro-formed diamond drill for glass
  • Extended work life for repeated drilling runs
  • 1/2" (12.7 mm) diamond matrix depth
  • Two mounting styles: Straight shank or Belgian type (1/2" gas thread)
  • HBT Feature: Belgian mount (1/2" gas) — SKU HBT214

These CRL Electro-Formed Diamond Drills are thin-walled with a 1/2" (12.7 mm) deep, multi-layer diamond matrix and bonding designed specifically for fast-cutting, high-production glass drilling. Use the CRL DCD Series for an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 9.5 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip; choose the CRL HBT Series (Belgian mount / 1/2" gas thread) for compatibility with many U.S. and European glass drilling machines.

These bits deliver outstanding results when used in precision, production-type drilling presses on flat (plate) glass only. Because the wall is very thin, they are EXTREMELY FRAGILE — never perform freehand drilling. Stabilize when necessary with a GDB1 or GDB2 Glass Drilling Base; avoid hand drills without proper support. Regular dressing with a dressing stone before each use will substantially increase cutting performance for electro-formed diamond drills.

Safety & handling: Handle with care. Use on flat, horizontal surfaces only. Always wear gloves and eye protection. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) when operating powered tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow precautions can result in operator injury and may void the warranty.
