The CRL Closed Cell Backer Rod offers easy control over sealant application thickness with its non-bonding surface, eliminating the need for an additional bond breaker.
Designed for compatibility with all cold-applied sealants, this round, flexible polyethylene foam with an exterior "skin" optimizes joint design and prevents excessive sealant use.
Available in diameters from 1/4" to 2" (7 to 50mm), it resists water absorption and promotes the preferred "hourglass" shape for joint sealants.
Ideal for expansion and control joints, it is crucial to select a size 25-50% wider than the joint for a secure fit.
Ensure proper storage away from sunlight and heat, and follow detailed installation instructions for optimal performance.
Avoid using with hot-applied sealants or adhesives above 160°F (71°C).
