CRL DCD and HBT Series Electro-Formed Diamond Drills (SKU: DCD) feature a thin wall and a 1/2" (12.7 mm) deep multi-layer diamond and bonding matrix. Engineered for fast cutting and repeated production runs, these diamond drill bits for glass deliver precise results when used under recommended conditions.
These extremely fragile electro-formed diamond drill bits must be used in a precision, production-type drilling press on flat (plate) glass only. Never use freehand or excessive pressure. Handle with care and always drill on a flat, horizontal surface.
Sharpening or "dressing" before each use significantly improves cutting performance. Use a dressing stone and consider stabilization bases such as the GDB1 or GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases when a hand-held setup is required. Improper use may damage the bit and void the warranty.
Safety: Always wear gloves and eye protection. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter when operating electric tools with water or coolant to prevent injury.
