These CRL Electro-Formed Diamond Drills (including HBT2) are thin-walled, precision drills engineered for high-speed, high-production drilling of flat (plate) glass. Each drill features a 1/2" (12.7 mm) deep multi-layer diamond and bonding matrix for aggressive cutting and extended life. The CRL DCD Series includes an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 9.5 mm) diameter shank for a secure, positive grip in production presses. The CRL HBT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" gas), a common choice for U.S. and European glass drilling machines.

These electro-formed, thin-walled drills are EXTREMELY FRAGILE and intended for use in a precision, true-running production drilling press on flat glass only. Never perform freehand drilling. If hand-held stabilization is required, use a dedicated base such as CRL GDB1 or GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases. Always use a dressing stone to "dress" or sharpen the diamond surface before each use to maximize cutting performance and longevity.

Safety & handling: Handle with care, use minimal pressure, drill on a flat horizontal surface, and wear gloves and eye protection. When using electric tools with water or coolant, use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Improper use can damage the bit and void the warranty.
