CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills — SKU: PD2

Metal bond diamond drill bits engineered for glass: Italian-made, multi-layer construction with a diamond-and-bronze bond that delivers longer life and consistent performance. With proper maintenance and use of a wet sharpening stone, these metal bond drills can produce 1,000–2,000 holes in 1/4" (6 mm) glass. They cut faster and run cooler than comparable drills thanks to a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface filled with diamonds and bronze bond. Because of the dense diamond matrix, these drills offer superior durability for high-volume glass fabrication but are more fragile and must be used on flat glass in true-running machines.

The PD Series features an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) shank for secure gripping. The PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" 12.7 mm gas thread), commonly accepted by U.S. and European glass drilling machines. Suitable for portable machines such as the CRL AMZ1 and ideal for production equipment and glass fabrication shops.

NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear (gloves and eye protection) when drilling glass. Work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Device (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions can result in operator injury.
