FA Series 3/30 Weight Range Sash Balances (SKU FA2630) requires nylon guides riveted to the top and bottom of the channel. For a secure installation, use the Cat. No. H3740 Rivet Set Tool (sold separately) to properly mushroom the rivet for a strong set. These are heavy-duty channel sash balances designed for replacement windows and commercial-grade sash applications.

Ordering Tips for FA Series Sash Balances Remove the existing channel balance from the window and measure the metal channel only — do not include the guides. Measure in full-inch increments for accurate replacement lengths.
NOTE: A few manufacturers used special 1/2" (12.7 mm) increment channel lengths; these are not stocked but can be special ordered.
Always check the stamped or laser-etched identification on the back of the channel balance. This will be either four numbers or two numbers and a letter (for example: 2710 or 27-2). Use that number to cross-reference the CRL chart. For example, a full 18" (457 mm) channel stamped 1710 or 17-1 corresponds to CRL Cat. No. FA1710. An 27" channel stamped 2610 or 26-1 corresponds to FA2610.
The chart lists a vent weight range — the sash weight a pair of channel balances will support. This rating does not account for excessive weatherstrip friction.
NOTE: Use the weight range chart for reference or when the stamped number is unreadable.
Special weight-range channel balances are available by special order. Stocked ranges run from FA1210 to FA4240. The digits 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 indicate counter-balance weight designations. If your channel shows 90 or a single 9 (for example: 2790-26), that balance was made to carry a specific sash weight per pair (26 lb in this example). If the channel shows a "DS" after the length (for example 27DS-34), the balances were made to carry a specified sash weight (34 lb) and may be designed specifically for upper or lower sashes; provide this information when ordering.
