CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills feature a durable diamond-and-brass bond for maximum performance on glass. Metal bond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill—typically 1,000 to 2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and periodic use of a wet sharpening stone to expose fresh diamonds. Italian-made, multi-layer construction cuts faster and runs cooler than many alternatives, with a full 3/8" (10 mm) cutting surface filled with diamonds and bronze bond for extended life. Because of the dense metal bond, these drills are more fragile and should be used only in true-running machines on flat glass surfaces.

The CRL PD Series includes an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) shank for a positive grip. The CRL PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" / 12.7 mm gas thread), compatible with most U.S. and European glass drilling machines and suitable for production equipment as well as portable machines such as the CRL AMZ1.

NOTE: Always wear appropriate safety gear (gloves, eye protection) when drilling glass. Work on a flat, horizontal surface only. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (Cat. No. GF1) whenever using electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions can result in operator injury.
