You can fabricate your own aluminum jambs for sliding glass door assemblies using CRL Dor-Tite Sponge Rubber Stripping (SKU D3850). This black, open-cell sponge rubber stripping fits most aluminum extrusions and is ideal for cushioning, dustproofing, and rattle-proofing the edge of sliding glass panels. The tape density is 26 lbs./cu. ft. with a deflection/compression of 5–10 psi (medium), providing reliable sealing and vibration damping without stretching.
Dor-Tite sponge rubber stripping is self-adhesive—simply remove the liner and apply for an instant seal. The exposed surface has a textured finish, requires no cleanup, and works as a weatherproof gasket and aluminum jamb seal for sliding glass doors and window assemblies.
