Use CRL Bond Breaker Tape (SKU 827T34) to ensure proper two-way sealant bonds and prevent sealant tearing or failure. This clear, tough plastic tape features a clear polyethylene adhesive backing, is 8 mil (.2 mm) thick, and offers high adhesion to steel and other structural metals. Apply Bond Breaker Tape to the bottom of shallow joints so the sealant bonds only to the walls, or apply to metal edges on butt joints so the sealant can be “buttered” over the joint and properly expand or contract.
