Overview

- Use in Shallow Joints and Metal Butt Joints
Use CRL Bond Breaker Tape (SKU 827T38) to create a proper two-way sealant bond. This clear, tough plastic tape features a clear polyethylene adhesive backing and is 8 mil (.2 mm) thick, providing high adhesion to steel and other structural metals. Bond Breaker Tape prevents the sealant from bonding to the joint bottom so sealant can expand and contract without tearing or failing. Apply to the bottom of shallow joints so the sealant bonds only to the walls, or apply to metal edges at metal butt joints so the sealant can be "buttered" over the joint and properly expand and contact. Ideal for sealant backer tape, bond breaker for metal joints, and sealant installation in glazing and metal fabrication applications.
