CRL Saint-Gobain/Norton V2100 Thermalbond® Tape — SKU V211238 is a semi-rigid, high-density foam tape with aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive formulated as a spacer for joint dimension control in structural silicone glazing systems. Widely used in curtain walls, storefronts, skylights and window systems, V2100 acts as a reliable spacer tape and thermal break to reduce heat conduction and inhibit condensation.
V2100 features a semi-rigid, open-cell substrate that maintains consistent gap spacing while allowing air and moisture to reach the silicone for optimum curing. The two-sided aggressive adhesive secures glass, metal, stone, mineral cement and plastic panels during shop fabrication and temporary positioning in unitized structural silicone glazing or cladding systems.
Key differentiators:
- Proven compatibility with commercial structural silicone sealants—minimizes sealant cure interference
- Semi-rigid open-cell construction—maintains consistent joint width while permitting silicone cure
- Low thermal conductivity—provides thermal break to reduce heat transfer and condensation
- Available in nine stock sizes with architectural black finish; custom sizes and colors on special order
Limitations: Thermalbond® V2100 is a spacer material, not a structural fastener. Do not rely on the tape as a permanent fastening system or to reduce the silicone adhesive recommended by the silicone manufacturer. Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned prior to application. Position carefully—V2100 cannot be repositioned after initial contact. Some substrates may require Norton Tite-R-Bond Adhesion Promoter.
