This CRL Medium-Duty Automatic Door Bottom (SKU 72NGA36) is a mechanically actuated automatic door bottom designed for carpeted interiors. An internal carrier bar with a vinyl insert drops from a concealed cavity to form a tight seal between the door bottom and the threshold. Supplied with a frame "actuator" protector plate, the unit is field reversible for either door hand and supports full mortise installation.
The drop-down seal functions correctly only when the door bottom is installed on the door: the back edge (near the hinge side) must contact the sill to allow the front edge to drop and create the seal. After installation, fine-tune sealing pressure by adjusting the threaded hex plunger—backing out the plunger increases pressure against the sill. Ideal for medium-duty commercial and residential applications where automatic retraction is required over carpeted floors.
