CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills use a specialized diamond-and-bronze bond engineered for maximum performance in glass. Metal bond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill—typically 1,000–2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass with proper maintenance and a wet sharpening stone to expose fresh diamonds. These Italian-made, multi-layer drills cut faster and run cooler than competing drills and feature a full 3/8" (10 mm) deep diamond cutting surface for long service life. Because of their dense metal bond, these drills are best used in true-running machines on flat glass surfaces and require careful handling to avoid breakage. The PD Series provides an extra-long 1-3/8" × 3/8" (35 × 10 mm) shank for secure gripping; the PDT Series uses Belgian-style mounting threads (1/2" gas thread), common on U.S. and European glass drilling machines and well-suited to production equipment and compatible portable drills such as the CRL AMZ1.

NOTE: Always wear appropriate safety gear (gloves and eye protection) when drilling glass. Work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow safety precautions can result in injury.
