This CRL 8B Series Square Base Shoe (SKU 8B34D) shares the same profile as the standard B7S Series but is 30% lighter—an ideal glass railing base shoe for commercial and residential projects that require a lighter aluminum extrusion without changing the established profile. The reduced weight improves price competitiveness, lowers shipping costs, and reduces environmental impact. Use for 3/4" (19 mm) monolithic tempered glass in both glass railing and windscreen installations. The extrusion is easily cut to the required length with a chop saw using a minimum 10" (254 mm) blade for aluminum.

Product Warning:

CRL does not recommend direct powder coating of this base shoe extrusion. Use powder-coated cladding applied over the base shoe instead.

All pre-drilled CRL base shoes have a +1/8" (3 mm) / -1/16" (1.5 mm) tolerance between each drilled hole. Before drilling installation holes in the concrete or steel substrate, place the base shoe in its planned final position and mark hole locations on the substrate to ensure accurate installation.
