CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 98814X38BL) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam sealant tape engineered for glazing applications on windows and doors. The aggressive acrylic adhesive allows precise positioning on curved or irregular surfaces with minimal pressure, making it ideal where glass repositioning is needed before final setting. Adheres to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass and is suitable for exterior glazing sealant use.
Designed as a primary or secondary seal in a variety of glazing systems, this self-shimming foam glazing tape eliminates the need for separate shims or spacers. Constructed with a patented cellular foam structure, it resists water absorption and long-term weathering to provide a durable, long-lived seal.
CRL foam glazing tape with adhesive on two sides — key features:
- Simplicity: no clean-up, easy handling, no mixing or special application equipment required
- Preformed tape for consistent, accurate application—no shim required
- Remains flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Special non-yellowing, non-staining water-white adhesives for a clean aesthetic appearance
- Superior resistance to weathering, oxidation, and ultraviolet exposure
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Available in a variety of sizes to fit different glazing needs
Maintain a minimum of 30% compression for an effective moisture seal. For small lites, compression may be achieved by applying pressure directly to the tape when installing glazing stops; for most lites, use of a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching—the paper liner will indicate if the tape has been stretched. Cut and butt tape corners rather than overlapping; apply a thin bead of an approved sealant at intersections after removing the liner. CRL Foam Glazing Tape is compatible with other sealing and glazing compounds.
ENERGY STAR® — CRL is an ENERGY STAR® partner, and our fenestration foam glazing tapes carry the ENERGY STAR® seal, supporting energy-efficient window and door installations.
Product warning: CRL vinyl foam glazing tape must be compressed 15% (minimum) to maintain an effective seal. In most applications a compression wedge gasket is recommended.
