CRL Vulkem® 116 Black Polyurethane Expansion Joint Sealant

CRL Vulkem® 116 Sealant (SKU: V116BL) is a one-part, moisture-curing, gun-grade polyurethane sealant designed for durable, flexible performance in moving joints. Vulkem® 116 offers primerless adhesion on most construction materials and dispenses with conventional caulking guns for fast installation.


Basic Uses
Vulkem® 116 is a general-purpose polyurethane sealant formulated for precast masonry, glazing perimeter joints, window frame perimeters, storefronts, and similar construction joints. Suitable for exterior and interior use and compatible with continual immersion in water when used with the appropriate primer. The light, grainy texture matches textured substrates like stucco and masonry and helps hide tooling marks—ideal for textured expansion joints and smooth metal storefront seams.

Technical Data
Conforms to U.S. Federal Specification TT-S-00230C, Type II, Class A; ASTM C920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, M, T, A, I (Class 2), and O. USDA approved. Meets CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87 and Canadian Food Inspection Agency standards. Approved to City of Los Angeles (COLA) criteria.

Limitations
Do not apply to damp or contaminated surfaces. Not recommended for substrates with special protective or cosmetic coatings without prior consultation with the manufacturer.
