Product: CRL Foam Glazing Tape (SKU: 98418X34GRY) is a closed-cell polyethylene foam sealant tape engineered for glazing systems. The aggressive acrylic adhesive positions the foam with minimal pressure and adheres reliably to wood, vinyl, aluminum, and glass. Suitable for exterior glazing where glass repositioning is needed before final setting.
Key differentiators:
- Patented cellular structured closed-cell foam — water-resistant and low absorption for long-lived seals
- Self-shimming design — eliminates the need for separate shims or spacers
- Two-sided adhesive option for simplified installation on windows, doors, and storefront glazing
- Energy-efficient fenestration solution — CRL is an ENERGY STAR® partner
Features:
- No mixing or special tools required; no cleanup and minimal waste
- Preformed tape for consistent, accurate application
- Flexible at low temperatures and dimensionally stable at high temperatures
- Special non-yellowing, non-staining, water-white adhesives for a clean appearance
- Seals effectively against water, dust, and light
- Available in a variety of sizes
Installation notes: Maintain compression to ensure an effective moisture seal. A minimum of 30% compression is recommended in the product literature; the product warning section also states a required compression of 15%. In small lites compression can be applied directly when installing glazing stops; in most lites a compression wedge gasket is recommended. Apply with firm, uniform pressure to a clean, dry surface without stretching (the paper liner indicates stretching). Cut and butt tape corners rather than overlapping; after removing the liner apply a thin bead of an approved sealant at intersections. Compatible
