The CRL L21S Series Laminated Square Base shoe (SKU: L21S10D) is engineered as the base channel for glass railing systems and can be clad in four architectural finishes. Proper attachment of the base shoe to the substrate is critical; CRL provides multiple engineered attachment methods, recommended drilling patterns, and approved fasteners. Glass specification:
For use with 27/32" (21.52 mm) laminated tempered glass (10 x 1.52 x 10 mm). Thickness range: .803" to .903" (20.4 to 22.9 mm). Will work with ASTM 7/8" monolithic tempered glass. Will not accommodate the full ASTM thickness range for 27/32" glass.

Product warning:
CRL does not recommend direct powder coating of this base shoe extrusion. Powder-coated cladding applied over the base shoe is the recommended method.

All pre-drilled CRL base shoes have a +1/8" (3 mm) / -1/16" (1.5 mm) tolerance between each hole drilled in the base. Before drilling installation holes in the substrate, place the base shoe in its final position and mark hole locations on the concrete or steel substrate.
