The CRL L56S Series Laminated Square Base Shoe is a heavy-duty base channel designed specifically for laminated tempered glass railing applications. Its precision-drilled attachment pattern and compatible taper sets streamline installation, while optional custom drilling, cutting, and mitering services allow project-specific solutions.

Glass Specifications

For use with 9/16" (13.52 mm) laminated tempered glass (6 mm x 1.52 mm x 6 mm).
Thickness range: 0.497" (12.62 mm) to 0.549" (13.94 mm).

Installation & Tolerances

All pre-drilled CRL base shoes have a tolerance of +1/8" (3 mm) / -1/16" (1.5 mm) between drilled holes. Before drilling substrate installation holes, place the base shoe in its final position and mark hole locations to ensure accurate anchoring. Proper attachment to the substrate is critical—CRL provides multiple attachment methods and recommended drilling patterns and fasteners. A printed brochure with installation instructions, hints, cleaning, and refinishing techniques is available.

Product Warning

CRL does not recommend direct powder coating of the base shoe extrusion. Apply powder-coated cladding over the base shoe instead.
