CRL Floating Headers With Fin Brackets were developed to add structural rigidity to all‑glass entrances and reduce deflection caused by wind, stack loads, and impacts. Designed for single- or double-door systems, these architectural floating headers support glass transoms and are ideal for frameless glass storefronts, commercial glass doors, and custom glass door assemblies.
Key features and applications:
- Custom lengths and glass-to-wall or glass-to-glass configurations
- Available prepped for surface-mounted magnetic locks, magnetic shear locks, surface top pivots, walking beam pivots, or overhead concealed door closers
- Headers measure 4" x 1-3/4" (102 x 44.5 mm)
For project-specific configurations, finishes, or integration with door hardware, contact the CRL Technical Sales Department.
Product Warning:
STRUCTURAL DISCLAIMER - Customers must consult a structural engineer to confirm suitability of this product for the intended use and site conditions. Installers must be qualified and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including correct selection of fixing materials and installation procedures.
If the transom above the header weighs more than 100 lbs. (45.4 kg), the transom must be supported from the ceiling to prevent bowing. Use Cat. No. B5BC Smoke Baffle Channel or PH94 Patch Fittings for additional support. Contact our Technical Sales Department for assistance.
Most shipping weights are approximate and have not been verified. If exact weight is required for shipping cost calculation, request this information before ordering by contacting CRL Customer Service. Product images are representative; actual colors may vary by monitor.
Brass Finish Advisory:
Brass is durable but prone to oxidation, which can produce a tarnished appearance regardless of initial packaging or storage. See the Brass Finish Disclaimer in Technical References for care and maintenance.
