An innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). The patented wedge action applies downward pressure with two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is drawn down with socket head cap bolts, the angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail, forcing the extrusions together and clamping the glass. In the 9" (228.6 mm) corner rail this design produces more than 900 lbs. of force (100 lbs. per inch), and delivers even greater force in full-length door rails.
NOTE: Actual product height: 6” (152 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® system not only secures glass reliably but enables the fastest installation time among door rails. Experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in under ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® door rails arrive completely fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After mounting the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail.
The adjustable door alignment system provides 1/8" (3.2 mm) in-out adjustment on both top and bottom rails without removing the door. Remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the adjustable slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide 1/8" (3.2 mm) in or out. The low-profile slide allows pivots with slotted grooves to be positioned other than the American Standard setback (2-3/4" / 69.8 mm), enabling fabrication for vertically out-of-square openings.
Key benefits and differentiators:
- Accepts 3/8" or 1/2" (10 or 12 mm) glass models — ideal for commercial glass door installations
- Rigid single-component housing resists shift and long-term misalignment
- Internal components remain assembled for faster installation — no removal required
- Durable glass securing pads engineered for longevity in extreme environments
- Built-in jamb alignment block standard (arms and pivots sold separately)
