Our innovative commercial glass entrance solution, the
CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System (SKU: DR4SPS12C), features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2, Canadian Patent 2,419,706, and European Patent No. EP 1 404 939 B1). This Wedge-Lock® door rail for tempered glass secures the glass by applying downward pressure through two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail, drawing the extrusions together and compressing the door retaining gasket to create exceptional clamping force — over 900 lbs. in the 9" (228.6 mm) corner rail. Imagine the holding force in full-length 35-3/4" (908 mm) door rails.
NOTE: Actual product height: 4-1/16" (103 mm)
The Wedge-Lock® Glass Securing System provides more than a secure attachment: it delivers one of the fastest installations in its class. Experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in less than ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails ship fully fabricated and ready-to-install with end caps installed. After rail installation, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the door rail.
The adjustable door alignment system allows 1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door; this feature is standard on both top and bottom rails. To adjust after installation, remove the end cap to access three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide 1/8" (3.2 mm) in or out. The low-profile slide accommodates pivots with slotted grooves and can be fabricated for vertically out-of-square openings.
Other advantages of Wedge-Lock® Door Rails: models accept 3/8" to 3/4" (10 to 19 mm) glass; a rigid single-component housing that resists shifting over time; internal components do not require removal before installation; and glass securing pads designed for longevity in extreme environments.
NOTE: All Wedge-Lock® Door Rails include a built-in jamb alignment block; arms and pivots must be ordered separately.
