Our innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System (SKU: DR4TSA12CL), features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 & 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). This glass door rail system for 1/2" (12 mm) monolithic tempered glass secures the glass by applying downward pressure via two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar. As the bar is tightened with socket head cap bolts, angled wedges pull the extrusions together and compress the specially designed door retaining gasket—creating exceptional holding force in the rail.
The Wedge-Lock® system delivers fast, reliable installation for commercial glass doors. Experienced installers can prepare a door for installation in less than ten minutes. CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails arrive completely fabricated and ready-to-install with End Caps installed. After mounting the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable door alignment slide already assembled in the rail.
The built-in Adjustable Door Alignment System allows ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door. Adjustment is accessed by removing the End Cap to reveal three socket head cap bolts: the center bolt secures the slide; the outer bolts provide the in/out adjustment. The low-profile slide and pivot grooves also enable fabrication for vertically out-of-square openings.
Other advantages of the Wedge-Lock® Door Rail:
- Rigid single-component housing that resists shifting and maintains alignment
- Internal components remain assembled—no removal required before installation
- Durable glass securing pads designed for longevity in extreme environments
NOTE: All Wedge-Lock® Door Rails include the built-in Jamb Alignment Block. Arms, pivots, closer arms, and floor or overhead pivots must be ordered separately to meet job requirements. Models with locks are supplied with the lock mechanism installed; matching finish keyed cylinders or thumbturns are sold separately.
CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rails come in several standard architectural finishes and can be quoted in custom finishes and widths upon request. Rail specifications, templates, and hardware packages are available from CRL Technical Sales via e-mail.
