Our innovative glass entrance solution, the CRL Wedge-Lock® Door Rail System, uses the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock® Securing System (U.S. Patents 6,434,905 and 6,912,818 B2; Canadian Patent 2,419,706; European Patent EP 1 404 939 B1). This wedge-action design applies downward pressure via two glass-retaining aluminum extrusions and a flat stainless steel bar tightened with socket head cap bolts. The angled extrusions engage an angled groove in the rail, forcing the retention pieces together and, along with the specially designed door retaining gasket, developing exceptionally high securing force in the rail.

The Wedge-Lock® system provides:

• Fastest installation time of any comparable door rail—experienced installers can prepare a door in under ten minutes
• Ready-to-install rails delivered fully fabricated with End Caps installed
• Adjustable Door Alignment Slide preassembled in both top and bottom rails, allowing ±1/8" (3.2 mm) adjustment toward or away from the jamb without removing the door
• Low-profile adjustable slide to accommodate pivots with slotted grooves and non-standard setback locations for out-of-square openings
• Rigid single-component housing that resists shifting or loss of adjustment over time

Typical rail sizes include full-length rails and a 9" (228.6 mm) corner rail. The Wedge-Lock® action generates substantial clamping force (measured at over 900 lbs. in the 9" corner rail), with proportionally greater force in longer rails—delivering secure attachment for 3/8" to 3/4" glass thicknesses.

Installation and adjustment: after installing the rail, attach the door arm or pivot (not included) to the adjustable slide. To fine-tune alignment after hanging, remove the End Cap to access three socket head cap bolts—the center bolt secures the slide; the two outer bolts adjust the slide ±1/8" (3.2 mm).
