CRL's TAPER-LOC® XAL Taper Sets for 13/16" (20.64 mm) laminated tempered glass are made up of one Setting Base/Drop-Side Taper, and one Front Side Taper. Tapers are made of high-strength, reinforced engineering grade polymer, and expand in thickness when compressed together with Cat. No. TLK12 Installation/Removal Tool, mechanically locking the glass panel in the Base Shoe.
The TAPER-LOC® XAL Setting Base spaces the glass away from the Base Shoe's vertical walls at the bottom edge, allowing for glass angle adjustment. It also serves to insulate the glass panels from damage during insertion into the Base Shoe and, at the same time, center the glass in the pocket.
