This CRL Z-Series Square Type Flat Base Glass Clamp (SKU: Z912PT) secures 1/2" (12 mm) glass and is constructed in zinc or stainless steel for dependable strength. Designed for square tubing or other flat surfaces, the flat-base Z-Clamp is a versatile solution for interior and exterior railings, partitions and windbreaks.
Installation notes: For attaching the Z-Clamp to thin‑wall tubing (<1/8"), use CRL ZB0LT socket head cap bolt and ZRNUT rivet‑nut. Drill a 17/32" (13.5 mm) hole and install the rivet‑nut using the 34604 heavy‑duty thread insert tool with the 34618 5/16" mandrel and nosepiece. If using the included steel pin for extra glass support, drill a 9/16" (14.3 mm) hole.
Specifications:
- Glass thickness: 1/2" (12 mm)
- Base design: Flat
- Material: Zinc or stainless steel (stainless or powder‑painted zinc recommended for exterior durability)
- Includes: Rubber gaskets and steel pin with grommet
- Replacement hardware: CRL P612 replacement screws
Glass fabrication notes:
- For 1/4" (6 mm), 5/16" (8 mm), and 3/8" (10 mm) glass: 1/2" (12 mm) diameter hole required if using the steel pin provided.
- For 1/2" (12 mm) glass: 9/16" (14 mm) diameter hole required if using the steel pin provided.
Product warning: For interior and exterior installations, CRL recommends pinning each glass panel when the bottom edge does not support the panel to prevent slippage. Rubber gaskets and steel pins are provided with each clamp.
