The CRL Open Cell Backer Rod is an ideal solution for controlling sealant depth and serving as an effective bond breaker in construction projects.
This highly compressible polyurethane foam is compatible with both cold-applied and hot-pour sealants, making it versatile for various applications.

Available in diameters ranging from 5/8” to 2” (16 to 51 mm), the CRL Open Cell Backer Rod is perfect for high-performance sealants such as silicones and urethanes.
With temperature limits of -60° to +500°F (-15° to +260°C), it is best used in vertical and horizontal wall joints, but not suitable for horizontal traffic surfaces like pavements.
Proper size selection is crucial, as the rod should be approximately 50% wider than the joint to ensure a tight fit.
Store in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames.
