This CRL Commercial Heavy-Duty Automatic Door Bottom (SKU: 76NGA36) is a mechanically actuated, mortised automatic door bottom designed to create a reliable threshold seal. An internal carrier bar with a vinyl insert drops from a concealed cavity to form a tight seal between the door base and threshold—ideal as an automatic threshold seal for carpeted interiors where the door bottom must retract upward when opened. Supplied with a frame "actuator" protector plate, the unit is field reversible for either door hand.
Note: Actuation of the inner drop-down bar functions properly only when the door bottom is installed. Manual testing before installation will only drop the back of the bar; proper operation occurs when the back edge (near the hinge side) contacts the sill and the front edge then drops to create the seal. Fine-tune seal compression using the threaded hex plunger—back out the plunger to increase pressure against the sill. This adjustable drop seal provides dependable performance and easy on-site tuning for optimal weatherproofing.
