Overview

  • Designed for high-volume glass fabrication and production drilling
  • 3/8" diamond matrix depth for extended cutting life
  • Two mounting styles: straight shank or Belgian (1/2") thread for industry machines

CRL PD and PDT Series Metal Bond Diamond Drills use a specially formulated diamond-and-brass bond for maximum performance in glass cutting. Metal bond diamond drills deliver the longest life of any diamond drill type — with proper maintenance and wet sharpening stone use you can achieve 1,000–2,000 holes in 1/4" (6.4 mm) glass. These Italian-made, multi-layer drills cut faster and run cooler than comparable options. Their full 3/8" (10 mm) deep cutting surface, filled with diamonds and bronze bond, provides extended life but requires careful handling; use only on flat glass surfaces in true-running machines. The CRL PD Series offers an extra-long 1-3/8" x 3/8" (35 x 10 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip. The CRL PDT Series (Belgian-style mounting threads, also called 1/2" gas thread) is widely compatible with U.S. and European glass drilling machines and portable units such as the CRL AMZ1, while being ideal for production equipment. Suitable for professional glass shops seeking durable metal-bond diamond drills and Belgian thread glass drill compatibility. SKU: PDT58

NOTE: Always wear proper safety gear including gloves and eye protection when drilling glass. Perform work on a flat, horizontal surface. Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interruption Device (Cat. No. GF1) when operating electric tools with water or coolant. Failure to follow these precautions can result in operator injury.
