CRL 33S Silicone (SKU: 33SBRZ) is a high-quality, 100% silicone, one-component, room-temperature curing, acetic-cure elastomer that delivers reliable performance for glazing, sanitary, and general-purpose sealing at a competitive price. No activators, stabilizers, or catalysts are required for optimum cure.
Key applications — CRL 33S is formulated for joining and sealing most non-porous building materials including glass, aluminum, stainless steel, wood, and many plastics. Typical uses: curtainwall joints, steel and aluminum windows, skylights, bathtubs, showers, and sanitary installations. Certain clear/white/translucent white/tan colors contain a fungicide for mildew-resistant cured beads.
Performance & operating range — Wide service temperature range of -80° to 400°F (-62° to 204°C). Can be applied at ambient temperatures as low as -35° to 140°F (-37° to 60°C). Physical properties include 350 psi tensile strength, 120 psi lap shear at 1/8" (3 mm), and 25 ppi tear strength.
Limitations — Not recommended for structural glazing, insulating glass glazing, concrete and stone expansion joints, horizontal decks, patios, driveway/terrace joints subject to abrasion, submerged joints (pools, aquariums), plazas, pavements, or surfaces with special protective/cosmetic coatings (mirrors, reflective glass, polyethylene, polypropylene). Not suitable for painting. Remove old sealant before application. Refer to cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for full limitations.
Approvals & certifications — Meets Federal Specifications TT-S-001543A (COM-NBS) Class A and TT-S-00230C (COM-NBS) Class A. Meets ASTM C-920 (Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, G, A) and CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87. Meets FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for certain food-related applications and is NSF Certified to Standard 51 for plastic materials used in food equipment. UL Recognized Component.
