CRL Commercial Medium-Duty Automatic Door Bottom (SKU: DB035DV36) — mechanically actuated automatic door bottom designed for carpeted interiors. An internal carrier bar with a durable vinyl insert drops from a concealed cavity to form a tight seal between the door bottom and threshold. The unit includes a frame "actuator" protector plate and is field reversible to fit either hand of door.
Key differentiators: concealed cavity for a clean appearance, vinyl insert for durable sealing on carpeted floors, and an adjustable threaded hex plunger to fine-tune seal pressure against the sill. This medium-duty automatic door bottom is ideal for commercial interior doors where the bottom must retract over carpeting without dragging.
Installation note: actuation of the internal drop-down bar functions correctly only when installed on the door. Hand testing before installation may only drop the back of the bar. Proper operation occurs when the back edge (near the hinge side) contacts the sill, then the front edge will drop to create the seal. Once contact is made, back out the threaded hex plunger to increase seal pressure as needed.
