This CRL Commercial Medium-Duty Automatic Door Bottom (SKU: DB035CV36) is a mechanically actuated automatic door bottom designed to create a tight seal between the door base and threshold. An internal carrier bar with a durable vinyl insert drops from a concealed cavity to form a continuous seal, then retracts when the door opens — making it especially suitable for carpeted interiors. Supplied with a frame "actuator" protector plate, the unit is field reversible for either hand of door.
The inner drop-down bar functions correctly only when installed on the door: the back edge (near the hinge side) must contact the sill first, then the front edge will drop to complete the seal. After installation, adjust the threaded hex plunger by backing it out to increase seal pressure against the sill for improved soundproofing and draft control.
