Overview
- Combines the strength of an epoxy with the speed of an instant adhesive for fast, durable metal bonds
- Permanently bonds cap rails, hand rails, and accessories with superior holding power—up to 4,900 psi—ideal for railing repair and assembly
- Fast handling strength: as quickly as 60 seconds; full cure in 24 hours for reliable metal-to-metal adhesion
To permanently bond rails and accessories we recommend this strong CRL Loctite® Metal Contact Cement system (SKU 32629). It includes two primer options to match your assembly speed and working time for hand rail bonding, stair rail repair, and metal trim installation.
Use Cat. No. 7649 Primer to activate in 60 seconds, reach about 60% of full strength in two minutes, and achieve a full cure in 24 hours. For longer working time use Cat. No. 7075 Primer to activate in five minutes, reach about 60% strength in ten minutes, and fully cure in 24 hours.
For best performance, surfaces should be clean and free of grease. Apply a generous amount of primer to both bond surfaces, then apply adhesive to one surface. Position parts quickly and precisely—adhesive begins to work immediately. Wipe excess adhesive with an organic solvent such as Cat. No. CRL2032 General Purpose Solvent and Adhesive Cleaner.
