CRL DAP® '33'® is a smooth, flexible glazing putty formulated for face-glazing wood and metal window frames. It adheres well to glass and sash, creating an air- and watertight seal that resists sagging, shrinking, chalking, and cracking. Ideal when you need a dependable, paintable glazing compound for window restoration or replacement.

• Mix entire container until uniform—separation can occur in glazing putty; rolling into coils warms and softens if needed.
• Surfaces must be clean, dry, and frost-free. Remove all old putty and bedding when re-glazing.
• Unprimed or unpainted wood sash must be primed with an oil-based primer and fully dry before glazing.
• Apply ~1/8" layer of DAP® ‘33’® to the sash backstop to provide back-bedding for the glass.
• For metal sash, use spacer shims at quarter points to maintain a minimum 1/8" bedding thickness—no direct metal/wood-to-glass contact.
• Smooth to an angle that sheds water using a putty knife; final tooling produces a clean bead.
• Putty must skin and attain a firm set before painting—typical dry time is 1–2 weeks depending on temperature and humidity.
• For best paint adhesion, use a high-quality oil-based paint; if using latex, prime first with a high-quality oil-based primer.

• Do not thin glazing compound.
• Do not apply when air or sash temperatures are below 40ºF (4ºC).
• Not for use on plastic panes, insulating glass with organic seals, panes over 48" (1.22 m) in length, or metal sash with rabbets over 1-1/4" (32 mm) wide.
• Not recommended for stained or leaded glass projects.
• Clean tools immediately after use with mineral spirits.
