Dow Corning® 995 (SKU: 995W) is a one-component, neutral-cure, shelf-stable, elastomeric adhesive formulated for silicone structural glazing and protective glazing applications. Its self-priming chemistry offers excellent adhesion to glass, reflective glass, anodized aluminum, granite, and most commercial paints (including many fluoropolymer-based coatings), making it a go-to silicone structural adhesive for curtainwall and storefront systems.
Basic Uses CRL Dow Corning® 995 Silicone Structural Adhesive delivers a tough, elastomeric rubber seal with ±50% movement capability and non-corrosive byproducts. It is eligible for a 20-year performance warranty (see manufacturer terms). Dow Corning® 995 is the approved adhesive in the 3M® Ultraflex Window System that integrates 3M® Scotchshield Ultra Safety and Security Window Film for enhanced protection against crime, severe weather, explosions, earthquakes, and accidental impact. Structural applications require prior testing and written print review by Dow Corning® Technical Service.
Limitations Structural glazing installations using Dow Corning® 995 must be reviewed and approved by Dow Corning® Construction Sealants Technical Service and Development. Always check the cartridge label and the latest Specification Data Sheet for project-specific limitations, cure guidelines, and substrate preparation instructions.
Technical Data Meets or exceeds: Federal Specifications TT-S-001543A (COM-NBS) Class A and TT-S-00230C (COM-NBS) Class A; ASTM C-920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 50, Use NT, G, and O; ASTM C1184 for Structural Silicone Sealant; and Chinese specification GB 16776 for structural glazing. Use in structural silicone glazing (SSG) systems only after required technical review.
