Use CRL Bond Breaker Tape (SKU 827T1) to create a proper two-way sealant bond. This clear, tough plastic tape features a clear polyethylene adhesive backing, is 8 mil (.2 mm) thick, and offers high adhesion to steel and other structural metals. Applied to the bottom of shallow joints or to metal edges of butt joints, the tape prevents unwanted adhesion at the joint base so sealant bonds only to the walls and can expand and contract without tearing or failing. Ideal for glazing, metalwork, and structural joint sealing where reliable movement accommodation and clean sealant profiles are required.
