CRL 3M® VHB™ Tape can replace mechanical fasteners such as rivets, spot welds, screws, and liquid adhesives. VHB™ Tape has successfully replaced all these and other fasteners in various manufacturing uses. It bonds to many substrates, and can be used for interior or exterior industrial applications. VHB™ Tape eliminates drilling for mechanical fasteners, and mixing of liquid adhesives. It applies neatly and easily, conforms to irregular surfaces, and allows concealment in use. Excellent resistance to ultraviolet light, solvents, moisture and plasticizer migration.
Best adhesion is achieved when applied at temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius) with adequate initial hand or roller pressure. Also, when surfaces are cleaned with a solution of isopropyl alcohol and water. CRL 3M® VHB Tape achieves 50 percent strength in 20 minutes, 90 percent strength in 24 hours and full strength in 72 hours.
