Perfect for use in vertical and horizontal wall joints, the CRL Open Cell Backer Rod should be oversized by approximately 50% for optimal fit, and is not recommended for horizontal traffic surfaces like pavement joints.
When using the CRL Open Cell Backer Rod, ensure proper joint preparation by cleaning new joints thoroughly and removing old sealant or filler from existing ones.
Install the backer rod at the sealant manufacturer's recommended depth for an "hourglass" shape, using a blunt tool or roller for smooth installation.
